How To Use WhatsApp on Desktop with WhatsApp Web Version

WhatsApp has finally launched its Web Client titled “WhatsApp Web”. The Web client is a mirror of your WhatsApp application on mobile.

Hence to use it, you need to have an internet connection on your mobile device too.
The WhatsApp web client will work only if you are using the WhatsApp application on any of the following phones:
  • Android.
  • Windows Phone.
  • BlackBerry.
Again, the web client will work only on Google Chrome at the moment.
Currently the service is not available for iOS users because of Apple’s Platform restrictions on iOS.
Here is how you use it.

Step 1. Download the latest WhatsApp Beta application: [Android]. The version must be 2.11.500.
Step 2. Install the downloaded beta App on your mobile, when it asks to replace the existing app. Accept the prompt and continue the installation.
Step 3. Restart the phone.
Step 4. Open the following URL (bookmark it) on your Chrome browser: WhatsApp Web.

The Chrome version isn’t a direct screen cast, but a desktop/browser adapted version which is easier to use. It also allows you to have Desktop Notifications for new messages.
